Surrey, October 13: ACORN members gathered outside of the Office of Social Assistance and Social Innovation in Whalley this morning. The members braved the weather in order to continuing to put pressure on the BC Government over their callous handling of the Province's disabled. ACORN members are calling on the province to raise social assistance and disability rates above the poverty line. After a brief rally outside the ministry office, members marched to the Surrey Central Skytrain Station to draw attention to the cause. More actions are planned for later in the autumn.
BC ACORN will not stop until people on social assistance and PWD are treated with dignity.
"The BC Government needs to know that this is not existence. This is not living."
