Ottawa ACORN Receives Ontario Trillium Foundation Support for New Project

Posted April 25, 2016

Ottawa ACORN is pleased to announce that we have received the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, to undertake a new project this year called The Disability Benefit Clinics (DBC), ensuring over 800 disabled people will not have to pay a corporate preparer to claim benefits they are entitled to.
Often low income disabled people do not file because of costs of preparation, misconceptions they will not receive any benefits since they are on government medical benefits, or fear of being subject to clawbacks. Our clinics will provide the opportunity for the disabled to claim additional resources to help them live healthier lives, such a buying additional medical supplies, clothing, supports and more.
For more information about the clinics, please contact the Ottawa ACORN office.
We would like to again thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous support to this project!
