Saturday, December 3rd marked the UN's International Day of Persons With Disabilities and the 10th anniversary of the UN's Covenant on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. BC ACORN members gathered in downtown Vancouver to call on Christy Clark and the BC Liberals to raise PWD rates and restore the disability bus pass.
The disabled can not access their rights with a $375 shelter rate, a $980 per month overall rate (including shelter), with no transit subsidy. ACORN's Disability Rights Group WILL change this!
